Juan Marcos Foyth (born January 12, 1998 in La Plata ) is an Argentine football player who plays for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League . He is mostly used as a central defender .

Career

Foyth, who also has a Polish passport, learned to play football in the youth of Estudiantes de La Plata . Foyth made his competitive debut for the first team in the Primera División on March 19, 2017 against Patronato. The English first division team Tottenham Hotspur signed him for the 2017/18 season . He received a five-year contract until June 30, 2022 and cost 9 million euros in transfer. He scored his first Premier League goal on November 10, 2018, beating Crystal Palace 1-0.

National team

As of January 20, 2017, Foyth played a total of 12 games for the Argentine U-20 national team . On November 17, 2018, he made his debut at home against Mexico (2-0) in the senior national team .
