Kim Young-kwang (born June 28, 1983 ) is a South Korean soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Kim was considered a great young talent among South Korean goalkeepers. In 2002 he set a league record in his first year as a professional with the Chunnam Dragons when he went ten games in a row without conceding a goal.

Kim Young-kwang is also very successful in the South Korean national team . Already in the U20 at the Junior World Championships 2003 and in the U23 at the 2004 Olympics , he was number one in the goal of the respective selection. In February 2004 he also made his first appearance for the senior national team and worked for the second position in goal by the 2006 soccer world championship in Germany . In South Korea's World Cup line-up , he remained a replacement behind 33-year-old Lee Woon-jae , who played all of South Korea's World Cup games. Also at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa , he was only a substitute goalkeeper and was not used. This time Jung Sung-ryong was preferred to him.
