Nam Tae-hee ( Korean 남태희 , born July 3, 1991 in Jinju ) is a South Korean football player . He has been playing for the Qatari club al-Sadd SC since summer 2019 .

He is known as a very versatile midfielder who is mostly to be found in the headquarters, but he can also switch to the wing .

Career

Nam played for Hyundai High School before joining Reading FC youth in England . In August 2008 he signed his first professional contract with the French club Valenciennes FC . He made his Ligue 1 debut at the age of 18 on August 8, 2009 against AS Nancy . This commitment made him the youngest South Korean player to ever play a competitive game in Europe. This record was only broken in November 2018 by Lee Kang-in , who played in the Spanish Copa del Rey for Valencia CF at the age of 17 . . Fb After 37 appearances for Valenciennes, he moved to the Qatari club al-Duhail SC during the winter break of 2012 . The first division club paid a transfer fee of one million euros for him. He made his debut on January 1, 2012 against al-Kharitiyath SC . His first league goal for Lekhwiya he scored on January 19 against Al-Ahli SC with a free kick. On March 7, he scored a goal in his first appearance in the AFC Champions League against the Saudi club al-Ahli SC . With al-Duhail he won the Qatari championship in his first season. After good performances in the 2016/17 season, he was named Player of the Year after the season .

After successful seven-a-half years at al-Duhail he moved to 2019/20 season within the emirate of al-Sadd SC , where he signed a three-year contract.

National team

Nam represented South Korea in all youth selections from U-13. He made his debut for the A-selection on February 9, 2011 in a friendly against Turkey .

Nam took the South Korean selection to the 2012 Olympic Games in London in part. Nam came on as a substitute for the 2-0 win in the bronze medal game against Japan .

On October 10, 2014, Nam scored the first goal for his home country in the friendly against Paraguay .

At the Asian Cup 2015 he scored the only goal of the game against Kuwait that gave South Korea a promotion to the final round. South Korea ultimately lost in the final against the host country Australia .

As part of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup , Nam scored two goals against Myanmar and Uzbekistan . For the finals in Russia he was ultimately not taken into account.
