Merlin Koumba Abdoulaye Tandjigora (born April 6, 1990 in Mouila ) is a Gabonese football player .

Club career

Tandjigora began playing football in his homeland in Gabon, where he played throughout his youth. In 2009 he moved from AS Stade Mandji in Gabon to the French second division club FC Metz . At Metz he was initially planned for the reserve team, where he came to regular missions and achieved a place in the first team in the 2010/11 season. He made a professional debut in the second division when he was called up from the start in the 2-0 draw against FC Évian . In the course of the season he was still used in the second team, but also came on six league appearances with the professionals. During the season there was speculation that VfB Stuttgart and Standard Lüttich are considering a commitment from Gabon. In fact, the player left Metz in the summer of 2011, but initially couldn't find a new employer, partly because an offer from the Spanish club Hércules Alicante was withdrawn. During the winter break of 2011/12 he signed with the French fourth division club USJA Carquefou . In Carquefou he became a regular player and achieved the club's first promotion to the third division in 2012. In terms of sport, the team managed to stay, but in 2014 the club withdrew into the amateur field for financial reasons. Tandjigora then moved to FC Istres, who had been relegated to third division . In this, however, he was unable to establish himself and in 2015 also had to accept further relegation to the fourth division.

National team

His first appointment to the Gabonese team came in September 2010, shortly after his first game for Metz. However, he was not used in the two games in October of the same year against Saudi Arabia and Oman. As a result, he had to wait almost two years before he played for the national team for the first time on June 9, 2012 in a 1-0 win against Burkina Faso. In the same year Tandjigora was considered for the Olympic football tournament in London. He competed there with a U-23 selection from his country, was used in all three group games, but then had to accept the elimination of his team. He then continued his previously started career in the senior national team.
