USJA Carquefou
The Union Sportive Jeanne d'Arc Carquefou or USJA Carquefou for short is a sports club from Carquefou , an independent municipality on the north-eastern outskirts of Nantes . The club has gained national recognition through its football department .
history
The USJAC emerged from the Jeanne d'Arc de Carquefou club, which was founded in 1922 and initially affiliated with the Sports Association of the Catholic Church , in which a football department was created in 1939. Several clubs in France bear the name of the French national heroine Jeanne d'Arc . After its merger with the US de Carquefou in 1942, the club took its name, which will continue into the 21st century.
The club colors are green and white. The footballers play their home games at the Stade du Moulin Boisseau , which has a capacity of 7,000. The league team is trained by Denis Renaud .

League affiliation and achievements
The USJAC has never had professional status. Until the early 1990s, the club's footballers played exclusively in lower regional leagues. In 1993 they rose for the first time in the Division d'Honneur , the highest regional, and a year later in the national amateur division CFA 2 . In the following years, the USJA commuted between fifth and fourth league. In 2012, for the first time in the club's history, she was promoted to the semi-professional third-highest division , which was followed in 2014 by retreating to the sixth division for financial reasons.
The club was more successful in the cup competition for the Coupe de France . In 1994 , 1997 , 1998 and 2003 he made it into the national main round, where in the thirty-second finals, however, the cup was immediately eliminated. In 2008, on the other hand, the then fifth-rate footballers prevailed one after the other against second division FC Gueugnon and first division AS Nancy and Olympique Marseille before losing 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the round of the best eight teams . The games against Marseille and Paris each saw a good 36,000 spectators at the Stade Louis-Fonteneau in Nantes. France Football dedicated a cover story to the successful course of the US Jeanne d'Arc Carquefou.
