Obadele Thompson (born March 30, 1976 in Bridgetown ) is a Barbadian athlete .

Thompson has been one of the world's best 100-meter and 200-meter runners since the mid-1990s . At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, he won the bronze medal over 100 m in 10.04 s. He was fourth over 200 m.

He was also at the start for the small Caribbean island at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Over 100 m he reached the final again, but this time could not win a medal.

Obadele Thompson is 1.75 m tall and has a competition weight of 67 kg.

He ran in 1996 in El Paso with 9.69 s, the fastest time ever over 100 m, but with an irregular tail wind of 5.0 m / s.

Thompson has been married to former sprinter Marion Jones since February 2007 and has two children with her.
