Hendrik Schmitz

Hendrik Schmitz (born April 6, 1978 in Aachen ) is a German politician of the CDU party and a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament .

Hendrik Schmitz grew up in Baesweiler . After graduating from high school, he began studying law at the University of Bonn . After completing his studies, he took over his parents' farm.

In 1997 Schmitz became a member of the Junge Union . In 2004 he became chairman of the Junge Union in the Aachen district association (city of Aachen and the district of Aachen, the districts of Düren, Heinsberg and Euskirchen) and a member of the city council of Baesweiler. Schmitz is an assessor in the state board of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia and deputy district chairman in the district association Aachen Land. Schmitz stood in the state elections in 2012 for the CDU in the state electoral district of Aachen III , in which he achieved 32.5% and thus undered Eva-Maria Voigt-Küppers from the SPD, but moved into the state parliament above list position 20. In 2017 he missed moving in again, but replaced the late Holger Müller on June 13, 2019 .
