Belgium took part in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London with a delegation of 152 athletes (132 men and 20 women) in 77 competitions in 17 competitions.

The Belgian athletes won two gold, two silver and three bronze medals. Belgium thus took tenth place in the medal table . Olympic champions were the athlete Gaston Reiff over 5000 meters and the cyclists Léon Delathouwer , Liévin Lerno , Eugène van Roosbroeck and Lode Wouters in the team classification of the road race. The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the modern pentathlete Charles Vyt .
