Édouard Émile Gustave Yves (born October 26, 1907 in Katako-Kombe , Belgian Congo ; † unknown) was a Belgian fencer .

successes

Édouard Yves won bronze with the foil team at the World Championships in Liège in 1930 , in Lisbon in 1947 and in Stockholm in 1951 . In 1947 he was also runner-up in the team competition in Lisbon with the saber. He took part in the Olympic Games three times : in 1928 he finished seventh with the saber team in Amsterdam , while he was eliminated with the saber in the first round. At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 , he made it into the final round with the Belgian foil team, which Yves, along with André van de Werve de Vorsselaer , Henri Paternóster , Raymond Bru , Paul Valcke and Georges de Bourguignon, came in bronze behind France and Italy completed. He was also a member of the saber team, with which he just missed another medal win in fourth. In 1952 he finished fifth in Helsinki with both the foil team and the saber team.
