Georges Camille Marcel de Bourguignon (born February 15, 1910 in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert , † December 31, 1989 ) was a Belgian fencer .

successes

Georges de Bourguignon won bronze with the foil team at the 1930 World Championships in Liège . In 1947 he was runner-up in both individual and team competitions in Lisbon with the saber. He took part in the Olympic Games four times : in 1932 in Los Angeles he missed the finals in the individual competitions with the foil and the saber. Four years later he finished fifth with the foil team in Berlin , while he finished eighth in the individual. At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 , he moved into the final round with the Belgian foil team, the de Bourguignon together with André van de Werve de Vorsselaer , Henri Paternóster , Raymond Bru , Paul Valcke and Édouard Yves on the bronze rank behind France and Italy completed. He was also a member of the saber team, with which he just missed another medal win in fourth. In 1952 he finished fifth with the saber team in Helsinki .
