Lucien Theys

Lucien Theys ( Lucien Maurice Theys; born February 25, 1927 in Overijse ; † January 19, 1996 ibid) was a Belgian long-distance and obstacle runner .

At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 , he was eliminated over 3000 m obstacle in the preliminary run.

In 1950 he won the Cross of Nations , was sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Brussels over 5000 m and won the Corrida Internacional de São Silvestre .

In 1952 he came in 14th place at the Olympic Games in Helsinki in over 5000 m and in 1954 at the EM in Bern over 10,000 m in 19th place.

He was twice Belgian champion over 5000 m (1949, 1950) and in cross country (1950, 1953), once over 10,000 m (1953) and over 3000 m obstacle (1948). In 1950 he was also the English champion over three miles .
