Marleen Renders (born December 24, 1968 in Diest ) is a Belgian long-distance runner who has specialized in the marathon distance .

Career

In 1997 she finished second in the Rotterdam Marathon , and in 1998 she won the Berlin Marathon . 2000 and 2002 she won the Paris Marathon in April , the second time with the current Belgian record of 2:23:05 h.
In May 2002 she also won the Bern Grand Prix (10 miles) in Switzerland and set a new course record.

In 2003 she finished fourth in the Hamburg Marathon , and in 2005 she finished second in the Frankfurt Marathon .

14 of the 16 fastest marathon times of Belgian runners go to her account. She was also successful at other distances. She improved the Belgian record in the 10,000 meter run five times to the current mark of 31:03:60 min and also holds the national records in the 10 km road race (31:23 min) and in the half marathon (1:08:56 H).
