With the III. During the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , two bobsleigh competitions were held. The venue was the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic bobsleigh run with a length of 2366 m and a height difference of 228 m. For the first time a two-man bobsleigh competition was on the program.

Since 1932, only four drivers have been allowed to sit in the four-man bobsleigh, previously there were also five. The four-man race was only held after the closing ceremony of the Winter Games due to poor weather conditions.
