Ulrich Poltera

Ulrich "Ueli" Poltera (born July 17, 1922 in Arosa , † March 22, 1994 in Chur ) was a Swiss ice hockey player . His brother Gebhard Poltera and his cousin Hans-Martin Trepp were also Swiss national players.

Career

Ulrich Poltera took part in the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz and 1952 in Oslo for the Swiss national team. At the 1948 Winter Games, he and his team won the bronze medal. He was also in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1950 and 1951 , where he also won the bronze medal. As the best European team, Switzerland became European champions in 1950. At club level, he played for EHC Arosa .

Achievements and Awards

At the opening ceremony of the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, Ueli Poltera was the flag bearer of the Swiss delegation.

In May 2020 Ueli Poltera was mentioned as an “Honorable Mention” by the International Ice Hockey Federation in connection with the election of the Swiss all-time teams.
