The Bergkirchli is the oldest church in the Graubünden spa town of Arosa and at the same time its oldest surviving structure. It is located in Innerarosa on the way between the Schanfigger Heimatmuseum and the Tschuggen , directly at the valley station of the Carmenna chairlift at 1900  m above sea level. M.

History and equipment

The Bergkirchli was completed in 1493 and, after the adoption of the Reformation in Arosa, served the Reformed parish as a preaching church from 1530 . Today, spa concerts are held there in the summer and winter seasons. In religious use, the church stands for funerals and wedding celebrations , as well as for short services on major public holidays. Since 1909, Sunday services have mainly been held in the village church .

In 1762 a house organ was built into the church , which dates back to 1730 and has four registers. Two restorations took place in 1974 and 1997.

Church organization

With the Bergkirchli as a preaching site, Arosa forms an independent parish within the Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden . There it belongs to the Colloquium VI Schanfigg-Churwalden .
