The Protestant church on the Lenzerheide in the canton of Grisons (also common Reformed Church and in the vernacular often Bergkirchli, not to be confused with the Bergkirchli in Arosa ) is an Evangelical - Reformed church in a prominent, village image formative area.

history

prehistory

In 1945, on the initiative of five Reformed residents, the Evangelical Church Association Lenzerheide - Valbella was founded (dissolved in 1981 when the Evangelical Church Community Vaz / Obervaz was founded ). In 1953, the church building project was decided with 35 against one vote at a general assembly.

Church building

The church was built in 1954 in the then complete diaspora in the purely Catholic area and consecrated on November 1, 1954. It is especially used as a Sunday sermon and wedding church.

The anteroom is dominated by glass paintings by the Chur artist Dea Murk .

Church interior

The vaulted ceiling covered with pine wood and the stained glass by the artist François Ribas from Lausanne on the New Testament motifs of the Prodigal Son and the Good Samaritan are of art historical value .

Church organization

The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden runs Lenzerheide under the political parish name Vaz / Obervaz as an independent parish in the Colloquium VI Schanfigg-Churwalden .
