Nadja Kamer (* 23. July 1986 in Schwyz as Nadja Kamer ) is a former Swiss ski racer . She has been a member of the Swiss-Ski national team since 2010 and was particularly successful in the Downhill and Super-G disciplines .
biography
Kamer competed in her first FIS race in December 2001 . From January 2003 she was used in the European Cup and won her first race in 2004. At the Junior World Championship in 2004 she was fourth in the downhill and fifth in the Super-G. On January 7, 2005, she drove for the first time in a World Cup race.
Because of a torn cruciate ligament or a broken collarbone , Kamer had to end the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons early. In the 2007/08 European Cup season she reached several podium places, including her second win. On January 20, 2008 she won her first World Cup points as the 25th of the Super-G in Cortina d'Ampezzo . Despite good results during the 2008/09 World Cup season , she was unable to take part in the 2009 World Cup in Val-d'Isère because of too much competition within the team .
On February 21, 2009, Kamer indicated her possibilities when she was fourth in the downhill in Tarvisio . About a year later, on January 9, 2010, she finished second on the downhill run from Haus im Ennstal and thus achieved her first podium finish. At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games , she finished 19th in the downhill, but was eliminated in the Super-G and the Super Combined. At the end of the season she became a three-time Swiss champion .
In the 2010/11 World Cup season , Kamer was among the top ten three times, including second place in the Val-d'Isère descent in December 2010. At the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she fell short of expectations with 13th place in the Super-G and 14th place in the downhill. On February 26, 2011, she crashed at high speed on the Åre Downhill but sustained only minor injuries. She ended the season early. In October 2011, Kamer suffered a knee injury while playing volleyball and had to take another break at the beginning of the 2011/12 season . In January 2012 she returned to the World Cup after a ten-month break. On February 4, 2012, she finished second in the downhill from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
In the 2012/13 season Kamer scored a podium, but also had several failures. At the 2013 World Championships in Schladming , she finished fourth in the downhill and missed the bronze medal by just hundredths of a second. In the penultimate Super-G of the season, on March 1, 2013 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, she fell and sustained a bone injury on her left tibial head. She then decided to end the season early.
In April 2013 Nadja Kamer married her long-time friend Werner Inglin. On March 27, 2015, she announced her resignation from alpine skiing; The reason she cited years of health problems.
