The 2010/11 season of the Alpine Ski World Cup organized by the FIS began on October 23, 2010 on the Rettenbachferner in Sölden and ended on March 20, 2011 on the occasion of the World Cup finals in Lenzerheide .

38 races were planned for the men (9  downhill runs , 7  super-G , 8  giant slaloms , 10  slaloms , 3  super combinations , 1  parallel slalom ); there was also a classic combination rating. 38 races were to be held for the women (9 downhill runs, 7 super-G, 8 giant slaloms, 10 slaloms, 3 super combinations, 1 parallel slalom). Due to the weather conditions, three races could not be held for men and six for women.

The overall women's World Cup was decided on the last race weekend in Lenzerheide with the narrowest lead ever achieved . By canceling the last giant slalom of the season, Maria Höfl-Riesch was able to save her lead of only three points over Lindsey Vonn , who achieved 99.83% of the overall winner's World Cup points the day before .

As in previous years, a team competition took place at the end of the season . For the first time, a team competition was planned for the World Cup opener in Sölden, but it was removed from the program. The parallel slaloms were held under the name City Event on January 2, 2011 in the Munich Olympic Park . The result counted for the overall World Cup, but not for a discipline ranking.

The highlight of the season was the Alpine World Ski Championships from February 7 to 20, 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , the results of which did not count towards the World Cup.
