biography

Altacher was a competitive athlete in the Austrian Armed Forces and starts for the Sliklub Saalfelden . She has been a member of the A-team of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) since the 2008/09 season . She drove her first FIS race in December 2001, and on March 9, 2006 she won a race for the first time with the giant slalom in Bad Hofgastein . In the European Cup went Altacher February 2003 and celebrated on 14 December 2007 its first victory in the super combination of Davos . In the 2007/08 European Cup season , she achieved second place in the combined ranking behind Anna Fenninger . In the 2008/09 European Cup season she took two second places in the Super-G and one second place in the Super-Combined and thus won the discipline classification in the Super-G, in the combined she was second like in the previous year.

In the World Cup , Altacher started for the first time on December 19, 2008 in the Super Combined in St. Moritz and was able to score straight away as 24th. In January 2010, when she finished 19th in the Super Combined in St. Moritz, she achieved a result among the top 20 for the first time. At the beginning of the 2010/2011 season , Altacher achieved twelfth place in the giant slalom in Aspen with the fastest time in the second run. On December 19, 2010, she finished tenth in the Super Combined in Val-d'Isère for the first time in a World Cup race in the top 10. Another tenth place was achieved three weeks later in the Super-G in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee on January 9, 2011 .

As a result, Altacher could no longer build on these achievements. Only occasionally did she make it into the top 20. In view of strong competition within the team, she never qualified for World Championships or the Olympic Games. In May 2013 she announced her retirement from ski racing due to persistent hip problems.
