biography

Ross was born in Canada and learned to ski in Canmore . In her youth she moved with the family to Klamath Falls , Oregon . In addition to sporting, she also showed musical talent; she plays the violin , piano and cello . Ross first took part in FIS races in December 2003 and celebrated her first victory just four months later. The first appearances in the Nor-Am Cup followed in November 2006, but shortly afterwards she had to break off the season due to an injury. At the American Championships in 2008, she surprised with second place in the giant slalom.

In January 2009 Ross won a race in the Nor-Am Cup for the first time, which was enough for 4th place in the giant slalom classification. In the 2009/10 season she won nine races, with which she won the overall standings as well as the downhill and Super-G rankings. In the World Cup , Ross made her debut on December 4, 2009, where she drove in the downhill from Lake Louise to 46th place. She won World Cup points for the first time on January 30, 2010 as the 28th downhill from St. Moritz . She achieved her first top 20 result on December 4th, 2010 with 19th place in the downhill of Lake Louise. At her first major event, the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she finished tenth in the downhill as well as 16th in the Super-G and 28th in the Super Combined.

On March 6, 2011, Ross achieved fourth place in the Super-G in Tarvis, the best result of her career to date. However, she was not able to build on this performance afterwards. In the winter of 2011/12 she did not get beyond a tenth place. The 2012/13 season started just as badly until it was fifth on December 12, 2012 on the downhill from St. Anton am Arlberg . The best result at the 2013 World Cup in Schladming was 11th place in the super combination. Finally, on March 2, 2013, she achieved her first podium finish when she finished second on the descent from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
