Giulia Gianesini (born March 21, 1984 in Asiago ) is a former Italian ski racer . She celebrates her greatest successes in the giant slalom .

Career

Gianesini contested her first FIS races in December 1999, her first victory followed in April 2001. In January 2003 she started in the European Cup . In the 2004/05 season she reached eighth place in the overall ranking and fifth in the giant slalom ranking. The Italian made her debut in the World Cup in December 2004, but she won her first World Cup points on January 26, 2008 when she finished 24th in the giant slalom in Ofterschwang . Her best result so far is ninth place in the giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo on January 24th, 2010. In the European Cup she reached third place in the 2008/09 season and fifth in the 2010/11 season . In March 2009 she became Italian champion in giant slalom.
