biography

Barioz drove her first FIS races in November 2003, she was used in the European Cup from January 2005. After she had won an FIS race for the first time in December 2005, she made her debut in the World Cup on February 3, 2006 , where she achieved 34th place in the giant slalom in Ofterschwang . Fifth place in the same discipline was her best result at the 2006 Junior World Championship . In December 2006 Barioz achieved her first podium finish in the European Cup, a month later she had to end the season prematurely due to an injury.

On January 26th, 2008, Barioz won 14th place in the giant slalom in Ofterschwang for the first time World Cup points, but there were no further countable results at the highest level this winter. At the Junior World Championships in 2008 , she just missed a medal as fourth in the combined ranking. In the winter of 2008/09, Barioz made it to the top of the world when she finished 4th and 5th in the World Cup giant slaloms in Cortina d'Ampezzo and Åre . At the 2009 World Championships she reached eleventh place in the giant slalom.

Barioz achieved her first podium finish in a World Cup race on December 28, 2009, when she finished third in the giant slalom in Lienz . At the 2010 Winter Olympics she was in second place after the first round of the giant slalom, but then fell seven places back. During the 2010/11 season, Barioz's only top 10 result in the World Cup was sixth place in the giant slalom in St. Moritz . She won the gold medal in the team competition with the French team at the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and was tenth in the giant slalom.

In the 2011/12 World Cup winter, Barioz was able to rank among the best teeth twice. The following season 2012/13 she had to cancel in mid-January due to a knee injury, so that she missed the World Cup in Schladming . In 2013/14 she was rarely found among the points. It wasn't until March 2015 that she achieved another top 10 result. In the 2015/16 season she established herself again in midfield and qualified for the season finale in St. Moritz . There she achieved the second World Cup podium of her career on March 20, 2016, when she finished second.

Barioz fell on December 28, 2016 at the giant slalom at Semmering in the second run (after rank 16 in the first run) and tore a cruciate ligament , which was why she was out for the rest of the season. She only competed in the giant slalom in Killington on November 25, 2017 , where she finished 19th. In the following winter she only got two more places in the points. After starting the 2018/19 season with ranks 13 and 16 , she tore another cruciate ligament during a training run in early December.

In May 2019, she finally announced her retirement from active competitive sports.
