Beaver Creek Resort is the largest US winter sports area in the Vail Valley , Colorado . It is privately owned.
The Beaver Creek Resort has 17 lifts and 146 ski slopes . Numerous sporting events take place in the resort every year, such as alpine ski world cup races on the Birds of Prey slope . In 1989 , 1999 and 2015 several World Ski Championships competitions were held here .
