From March 1999 he took part in the European Cup. He made his debut in the Freestyle World Cup on February 7, 2003 in Steamboat Springs , where he jumped to 32nd place. He won his first World Cup points on March 1, 2003 with place 25 in Špindlerův Mlýn . As a result, he was able to establish himself in midfield. At the 2005 World Cup in Ruka he finished eighth, which was his best result to date.

In September 2005 Lambert also made it into the top ten in the World Cup for the first time, which earned him qualification for the 2006 Winter Olympics . On January 7, 2007, he just missed the podium with fourth place in the Mont Gabriel World Cup , as well as on December 21 of the same year in Lianhua . He achieved his first podium placement on January 25, 2009 with 3rd place in Mont Gabriel. Three top 10 rankings in the 2009/10 season enabled him to qualify for the 2010 Winter Olympics . After a tough 2010/11 season, Lambert increased the difficulty of his jumps. On January 21, 2012, he celebrated his first World Cup victory in Lake Placid . At the end of the season, he finished third in the Aerials discipline.
