One round was also driven in the final, whereby the points from the qualification were no longer taken into account. After bronze in Nagano in 1998 and gold four years later in Salt Lake City, Kari Traa won her third Olympic medal. Jennifer Heil had missed the bronze medal by 0.01 points in Salt Lake City. This time she won confidently. The reigning world champion Hannah Kearney clearly missed the final as 22nd of the qualification.
