Assol ("Oly") Witaljewna Sliwez ( Belarusian Асоль Вітальеўна Слівец , Russian Ассоль Витальевна Сливец ; born June 22, 1982 in Minsk ) is a Russian freestyle skier . She specializes in the aerials (jumping) discipline. Her younger brother Zimafej Sliwez does the same sport.

biography

Her first use at international level had Slwez at the 2001 World Cup in Whistler , where she was 25th. The debut in the Freestyle World Cup followed on September 8, 2001 at Mount Buller with the 14th place. A day later she achieved her first podium finish. At the end of the 2002/03 season, she achieved second place in Špindlerův Mlýn, the best result of her career so far.

In the years that followed, Slwez regularly achieved good results in the World Cup, but never managed to win. At the 2006 Winter Olympics , she was fifth. She celebrated her greatest success to date by winning the silver medal at the 2007 World Cup in Madonna di Campiglio . Sliwez took a break in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons. With fourth place at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games , she just missed another medal win.
