At the XVI. At the 1992 Winter Olympics , freestyle skiing was an Olympic sport for the first time. Part of the official program, however, were only the decisions on the moguls (moguls), in which a competition for men and women was held. The ballet and aerials competitions, on the other hand, were only demonstration competitions. Two years later, at the 1994 Winter Games in Lillehammer , the jumping competitions found their way into the official program. The venue for all competitions was the Stade de ski artistique in Tignes , around 85 km from Albertville .
