Andreas Schönbächler (born April 24, 1966 in Zug ) is a former Swiss freestyle ski jumper and Olympic champion .
In Albertville at the 1992 Winter Olympics , freestyle skiing was an Olympic sport for the first time. However, the jumping discipline was held for the second time as a demonstration competition. Schönbächler took part in this competition and was 15th and thus second last.
When jumping was first accepted as an Olympic discipline at the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer in 1994 , he was able to win the gold medal in jumping. Only North Americans followed in places two to seven.
