Birgit Keppler (* 26. August 1963 in Pfullingen as Birgit Stein ) is a former German freestyle skier . She specialized in the mogul slope discipline.

Career

Birgit Keppler made her debut in the World Cup on March 1, 1986 at the race in Oberjoch , where she finished 18th. Three years later she was seventh at the Freestyle Skiing World Championships . She achieved her best World Cup result on January 18, 1991 in Breckenridge (Colorado) when she finished second behind the American Donna Weinbrecht . At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , she finished fifth and four years later at the Winter Games in Lillehammer, 20th place.

After her career, she was a member of the main committee of her home club, VfL Pfullingen , from 2002 to 2016 and since 2001 she has been the deputy head of the club's ski department.

Furthermore, Keppler has been a member of the executive committee of the FöGe Olympiastützpunkt Stuttgart eV since 2003.

Professional

After completing her training as a draftsman at the University of Stuttgart, Keppler studied architecture from 1985 to 1992. She has been working as a freelance architect in Pfullingen since 2004.
