Rodin M. Rasoloarison is a Malagasy primatologist .

Career

Rodin M. Rasoloarison is a researcher at the Université d'Antananarivo and employee of the German Primate Center . In 1997 he came to the field station of the German Primate Center in the Kirindy-Mitea National Park to coordinate the work done by the DPZ in Madagascar on a national level and to conduct his own research on the biodiversity of Madagascan lemurs . In 2000 he received his Ph.D. from the Université d'Antananarivo. Since then he has been researching the taxonomy and biogeography of lemurs in nature and through visits to museum collections around the world.

In 2000 Rasoloarison carried out a revision of the mouse lemurs of western Madagascar with Steven M. Goodman and Jörg Ganzhorn , which was also the subject of the Rasoloarison dissertation. The Sambirano lemur , the northern lemur and Madame Berthe's lemur were described, the dwarf lemur , which has been synonymous with the gray lemur since 1931 , was raised to a species again and several neotypes were identified . In 2013 he and several colleagues published the first descriptions of Marohita mouse lemur and Anosy mouse lemur . In 2016 Rasoloarison was co-author of the first description of Microcebus manitatra , Ganzhorns Mausmaki and Microcebus boraha .
