Simon Kvamm (born February 18, 1975 in Silkeborg , Denmark ) is a Danish rock singer, known as the front man of the group Nephew .

Simon is the son of Janus and Elizabeth Kvamm and has a four years younger brother Stefan. His paternal grandfather was a Faroese and comes from Gøta . After high school in Silkeborg, he went to Aarhus University , where he studied musicology .

In 1996, Simon Kvamm founded the band Nephew in Århus, which today is one of the most famous bands in Denmark. As the front man of the band, he also plays keytar or gui-board , a guitar-like keyboard .

Musicology wasn’t so much his thing, however, so in the late 1990s he switched to Danmarks Journalisthøjskole (Denmark’s College of Journalism in Århus). In 2001 he got a job at Danmarks Radio and moved to Copenhagen . Behind and in front of the camera he has been involved in the production of several successful series, including a. as host of the satirical show Drengene fra Angora .

Meanwhile, work with Nephew continues. In 2007 Nephew was nominated in six categories for the Danish Music Awards (DMA), Kvamm himself as best singer and best songwriter.
