Nephew is a Danish rock group that was founded in Aarhus in autumn 1996 by students Simon Kvamm (vocals, keyboards), Kristian Riis (guitar), Jonas Juul Jeppesen (bass) and Søren Arnholt (drums). Shortly after the band was founded, Nephew advanced to the semifinals of the nationwide talent competition DM i Rock .

Career

In 2000, bassist Jeppesen was replaced by Kasper Toustrup. In the same year, the band's debut album was released under the title Swimming Time .

Nephew's breakthrough in her home country came with her second album USADSB , which was released in 2004. It reached number 1 on the Danish album charts and stayed there for four weeks. For over 80,000 albums sold, Nephew was awarded a double platinum record.

The band also received a record deal in Germany. In July 2005, the first single was released with Movie Klip . In October 2005 Nephew released A Wannabe Darth Vader, a completely English-language version of the title En Wannabe Darth Vader , which has already appeared on their Danish album. They also remixed the song Alone Alone by Polarkreis 18 as Alone Alene reworked .
