Ivan Joller (born April 24, 1983 in Stans , Switzerland ) is a Swiss biathlete .

Career

Ivan Joller started biathlon in 2000 and has been a member of the Swiss national team ever since. The carpenter from Krems is trained by Manfred Geyer and starts for the SC Bannalp-Wolfenschiessen .

Joller made his debut in 2002 unsuccessfully at the Junior World Championships in Ridnaun . Also in 2003 in Kościelisko the results were not worth mentioning, only in 2004 in Haute-Maurienne he could achieve a good result with rank 17 in the individual. In the European Junior Cup, Joller achieved top ten results several times. At the beginning of the 2002/03 season he made his debut in the European Cup in Windischgarsten as tenth in a sprint . His start in singles (75th) at the Biathlon World Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen was also his debut in the Biathlon World Cup . Best results at the Biathlon European Championships 2006 in Langdorf were a 26th place in the sprint and ninth place with the relay. At the military world championships of the year, the Swiss finished 24th in the sprint. At Holmenkollen in Oslo he was able to win World Cup points for the first time in an individual in 2007 as 24th. Before that he had already achieved a good sixth place with the relay in Oberhof . Other good results, including an 18th place in the pursuit of Hochfilzen, managed Joller in the 2008/09 season . In early March 2010, in the absence of the national elite, he won the Swiss mass start championship .
