Manfred Geyer (born May 23, 1951 in Altenfeld ) is a former German biathlete and current trainer.

He won the bronze medal with Karl-Heinz Menz , Frank Ullrich and Manfred Beer with the GDR relay at the 1976 Olympic Games in Innsbruck . From 1976 to 2003, Geyer was the women's base trainer in Oberhof, where he paved the way to the top of the world, among others, for Kati Wilhelm , Katrin Apel and Andrea Henkel . As trainer of the Swiss national biathlon team, Geyer was jointly responsible for the development of biathlon in Switzerland from 2004 to 2010. His successor was Steffen Hauswald . During his aegis, the Swiss men improved from 19th to eighth place in the national ranking. In many cases, top ten results could be achieved, with Matthias Simmen and Thomas Frei two athletes achieved podium places. In the case of women too, Selina Gasparin was the first biathlete to be introduced to the top of the world. Since summer 2010 he has been coaching the biathletes of South Korea.
