The 15th Biathlon World Championships took place in 1977 in Vingrom ( Lillehammer ), Norway . The Junior World Championships were held in Kurikka in Finland.
Last year there was the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck . For this reason, the 1976 biathlon world championships were only held in the not yet Olympic sprint discipline.
