Raimo Kalevi Seppänen (born October 21, 1950 in Suomussalmi ) is a former Finnish biathlete .
Raimo Seppänen started for Suomussalmen Rastia . He had his first successes as a junior, where he won the silver medal at the Biathlon Junior World Championships in 1971 in Hämeenlinna with Matti Mustonen and Raimo Moilanen in the relay race behind the Soviet Union. At his first biathlon world championships in Minsk in 1974 he was 26th in the sprint. At the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck he was a substitute, but was not used. In Vingrom he won the silver medal at the Biathlon World Championships in 1977 with Erkki Antila , Simo Halonen and Heikki Ikola in the relay race behind the Soviet Union and was also 14th in the individual. At the Biathlon World Championships in 1978 , the ranks 20 in the sprint, 21 in the individual and 7 in the relay were added. At the 1979 World Championships in Ruhpolding , he and his team mates from the 1977 silver relay won the silver medal behind the GDR. In the individual, he just missed another medal in fifth. Highlight of the career were the Olympic Winter Games in 1980 from Lake Placid , where he the function SINGLE and 32. Keijo Kuntola , Erkki Antila and Kari Saarela was as the final runner of the season seventh. The last international championships were the 1981 World Championships in Lahti , where Seppänen finished 31st in the sprint. At the national championships, the border soldier won the individual titles in 1975 and 1977 and also in the sprint in 1977.
