Christian Stebler (born April 23, 1981 ) is a former Swiss cross-country skier and biathlete .

Christian Stebler lives in Wolfenschiessen and starts for the Bannalp-Wolfenschiessen . The carpenter was a successful cross-country skier even in his youth. He won the Swiss junior title four times. In 1998 he contested his first international senior race. At an FIS race in Urnäsch he was tenth over 15 kilometers. At the end of 1999 he started in Engelberg for the first time in a race of the cross-country skiing world cup and finished 77th in a sprint. A month later, Stebler competed in the Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso and was 25th over 10 and 28th over 30 kilometers. A year later, the Swiss was again placed in the top 30 in three races in Karpacz and Szklarska . The best result was eleventh place over 10 kilometers. The next major event was the military world championships in Kranjska Gora , where he was 23rd over 15 kilometers. In the following year Stebler started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme . In November 2003, after having only been used in the Continental Cup and FIS races, he was able to start again in the World Cup, where he competed more often from now on. In Kuusamo he won twice as 28th in the pursuit and over 15 kilometers first points. At the beginning of 2005 he achieved his best World Cup result in the pursuit of Pragelato as 18th. A little later, Stebler started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf , where he reached ranks 41 in the pursuit and 51 over 15 kilometers. Pinnacle of cross-country career was participating in the 2006 Olympic Winter Games of Turin , where he had accepted at the competitions of Pragelato. Over 15 kilometers he reached the 29th place, over 50 kilometers 50. In total, he competed in 34 World Cup races and scored three points. Nationally, Stebler won two titles as Swiss champion over 50 kilometers.

After the desired successes did not materialize, Stebler switched to biathlon. In 2004 he started in Östersund at the military world ski championships with the military patrol and came fourth there. He had his first real missions since 2008 as part of the Biathlon European Cup . In 2009 he first competed in a relay race in the Biathlon World Cup and was 15th in the sprint, he finished 83rd. Later in the year, Stebler took part in the 2009 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof , where he competed in the roller-ski races. In the sprint he reached 49th place, in the pursuit race he was lapped. The highlight of the season was the 2010 Military World Ski Championships in Brusson , where he finished 16th in the sprint and won the silver medal behind Estonia with the military patrol, which also included Toni Livers , Ivan Joller and Remo Fischer . At the start of the 2010/11 season , the Swiss won his first World Cup points in Östersund as the 39th individual. In the further course of the season he was able to improve his best placement up to a 26th place in a sprint race in Presque Isle . The following season Stebler was 22nd in a sprint in Kontiolahti and improved his best performance again. After the 2011/2012 season he ended his active career and switched to the youth coaching and supervisory staff.
