Janine Alder (born July 5, 1995 in Urnäsch ) is a Swiss ice hockey goalkeeper . She plays in the Swiss national ice hockey team and for the St. Cloud State Huskies .
Career
Alder learned the ice hockey ABC at EHC Dübendorf . She later played for the EHC Winterthur and the ZSC Lions women. In summer 2016 she moved to the USA, where she has been working for the St. Cloud State Huskies in the NCAA's Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) .
At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , Alder won the bronze medal with the Swiss national team . In April 2019, Alder suffered an epileptic seizure at the Helsinki World Cup. After the third group game against the USA, Alder complained of nausea and general malaise. Rescue workers took them to the hospital ten minutes away. Alder was placed in an artificial coma and remained in it for four days. Three months later, Alder was back on the ice for the first time, playing her first game after the incident on October 4 for the St. Cloud State Huskies.
Personal
Janine Alder attended art and sports high school in Uster before moving to the USA in 2016. She will study journalism and psychology at the University of Minnesota until 2020.
In her free time, writing is one of Alder's greatest passions. Her books are available to buy as e-books.
