The EHC Dübendorf is an ice hockey club from the city of Dübendorf in Switzerland .

history

The EHC Dübendorf was founded in 1939. The first association president was Werner Bantli (1939–1940). He was also a founding member. In 1942 the natural ice rink "Im Chreis" was opened. From 1960 they played and trained on the ice rink in Wetzikon . Six years later, construction of the Dübendorf artificial ice rink began, which was inaugurated on October 14, 1967. In 1972 the large auditorium was roofed over. On November 27, 1982 the opening game of the newly built ice rink took place. The Zurich Ice Skate Club ( ZSC Lions ) was expected in front of 4,000 spectators . Dübendorf won the national league B game at that time 4-0. In 1995 the future collaboration with the ZSC Lions and the GCK Lions was sealed . This has made the EHC Dübendorf an important training partner. Most recently, in the 2008/09 season, the mosquitoes were unofficial Swiss champions. In addition, since 1994/95 it has been the host of the international Glattal tournament, which is held annually at the Bambini and Piccolo.
