Katrin Nabholz (born April 3, 1986 in Basel ) is a Swiss national ice hockey player who has been under contract with the ZSC Lions Women in the Swiss Women's Hockey League A since 2007 .

Career

Katrin Nabholz was already on the ice at the age of four and initially played against her two older brothers. Until she was 16, she was a member of the (male) junior teams of the EHC Basel. She then switched to women's ice hockey and played for DHC Lyss from 2003 to 2005, for EHC Illnau-Effretikon in the 2005/06 season and for SC Reinach in the top women's division in Switzerland, performance class A. .

In 2007 she switched to the ZSC Lions , with whom she won the Swiss championship in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016 . In addition, she took part with the Lions women several times in the IIHF European Women Champions Cup , the Elite Women's Hockey League and the EWHL Super Cup .

International

At the women's world championship in 2005 in Division I , Katrin Nabholz completed her first world championship for the Swiss women's ice hockey team , where she and the team made it back to the top division.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , she took fifth place with the "Women's National Team". At the 2012 Women's World Cup , she won the bronze medal with the national team and achieved the greatest success to date in Swiss women's ice hockey. In 2014 she took part in the Winter Olympics in Sochi , where she won the bronze medal with the national team and thus repeated the World Cup success of 2012.

After this success, Nabholz ended her national team career after more than 150 international games, two Olympic Games and six top world championships.

In January 2015, she successfully completed her studies in veterinary medicine and has been employed at the University of Zurich's animal hospital ever since .
