Isabel Derungs (born July 17, 1987 in Suraua ) is a Swiss snowboarder . She starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Derungs has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2010 . In the 2010/11 season she won her first victories in the slopestyle at The Ladies first Challenge in Saas-Fee and at the Engadinsnow in St. Moritz . This was followed by a third place at the Nescafé Champs in Leysin . In March 2011 she took second place in the catfight in Levi on the halfpipe , in slopestyle and at the railjam . At the beginning of the following season she reached second place in the Billabong Slope-Style in the Wanaka . At the Snowboard World Championships 2012 in Oslo she came in 18th place in Slopestyle. At the Burton European Open 2012 in Laax , she took third place in slopestyle. At the beginning of March 2012 she won the slopestyle at the Nescafé Champs in Leysin. She finished the season in fifth place in the World Snowboard Tour overall standings. She drove her first FIS World Cup race in January 2013 in Copper Mountain , which she finished in third place in the slopestyle. At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham , she achieved seventh place in slopestyle. In the 2013/14 season she won the O'Neill Pleasure Jam in Schladming and the Burton European Open in Laax. In December 2013 she came in second place in slopestyle at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix and FIS World Cup races in Copper Mountain .

At her first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , Derungs took eighth place in slopestyle. She came third in slopestyle at the 2014 Burton US Open in Vail . She finished the season in third place in the Tour Slopestyle ranking. At the 2016 Snowboard World Championships in Yabuli , she took 16th place in Slopestyle and eighth place in Big Air. The following year, she finished 16th in Big Air and fifth in Slopestyle at the Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada . She took part in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang and finished eighteenth in the women's slopestyle final. In the 2018/19 season she came in the top ten three times in the World Cup. She won her first World Cup victory in slopestyle on the Alpe di Siusi and at the end of the season she took 15th place in the Freestyle World Cup and third place in the Slopestyle World Cup. At the season highlight, the Snowboard World Championships 2019 in Park City , she came 12th in slopestyle.

Derungs became Swiss Big Air Champion in 2012 and 2018. In 2014, 2018 and 2019 she won gold in Slopestyle at the Swiss Championships.
