Slopestyle or obstacle course style is a form of competition that comes from snowboarding and freeskiing . It is also increasingly widespread in mountain biking. A course with different obstacles on mountain bikes, snowboards or skis is run through in a continuous run and the ride is assessed by a judge .

The course design for mountain bikes and snowboards or skis is very similar. A mountain bike obstacle course consists of drops (up to ten meters high), dirt jumps , wall rides and other obstacles. The course is set up in such a way that the drivers have several options for combining the individual elements. It is assessed how the driver uses the individual elements, which tricks he performs and how impressively he performs these tricks. When mountain biking, the rider uses the most stable and agile bike possible in order to master the most difficult tricks possible. The riders are rated by judges ( referees ).

The International Olympic Committee took 4 July 2011 Slopestyle in the program of the 2014 Winter Olympics on. This includes slopestyle for skiers and snowboarders. The first Olympic champions in snowboard slopestyle were Jamie Anderson and Sage Kotsenburg , in freestyle skiing Dara Howell and Joss Christensen .
