Julie Zogg (born October 1, 1992 in Walenstadt ) is a Swiss snowboarder . It starts in the parallel disciplines.

Career

Zogg, who starts for SC Flumserberg , drove her first World Cup race in Nendaz in December 2007 , which she finished in 33rd place in the parallel slalom. Since 2008 she has also competed in the European Cup, where she finished second in the parallel ranking in 2014. She had her first international success in January 2009 at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2009 in Szczyrk . There she won gold in the parallel giant slalom. Two weeks later she won silver in the parallel giant slalom and gold in the parallel slalom at the 2009 Snowboard Junior World Championships in Nagano . The following year she won silver in the parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom at the 2010 Snowboard Junior World Championships . In January 2011 she achieved her first top ten placement in the World Cup with tenth place in the parallel slalom in Bad Gastein . In the same month she achieved the 22nd place in the parallel giant slalom and the 14th place in the parallel slalom at the Snowboard World Championships 2011 in La Molina . At the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2011 and 2012 , she won gold in the parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom. In January 2012 she achieved a podium finish in the World Cup for the first time with second place in the parallel slalom in Bad Gastein. This was followed by three third places in the season and finally sixth place in the parallel overall ranking.

In her first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , she came ninth in the parallel giant slalom and seventh in the parallel slalom. After a weaker start to the 2014/15 season, she took third place in the parallel slalom in Bad Gastein . At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , she took sixth place in the parallel slalom and fourth place in the parallel giant slalom. This was followed by three second places in the season. At the beginning of March 2015 she won her first World Cup victory in parallel slalom in Asahikawa . She finished the season in third place in the Parallel Giant Slalom World Cup and in first place in the Parallel Slalom World Cup and in the Parallel World Cup. In the 2015/16 season she finished in the top nine in all seven World Cup competitions and at the end of the season she achieved eighth place in the parallel slalom world cup, sixth place in the parallel world cup and fifth place in the parallel giant slalom world cup. In the European Cup she reached five second places and won the parallel and parallel slalom scores. She came second in the parallel giant slalom classification. In the following season she achieved four top ten placements, including third place in the parallel giant slalom in Pyeongchang, 12th place in the parallel giant slalom world cup, tenth place in the parallel world cup and fifth place in the parallel slalom world cup. At the season highlight of the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada , she finished 13th in the parallel slalom and tenth in the parallel giant slalom. In the 2017/18 season she finished eight in the top ten, including third place in the parallel slalom in Winterberg and second in the parallel giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo, eighth place in the parallel world cup and third place in the parallel slalom world cup . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, she was sixth in the parallel giant slalom. In the following season she won the parallel slalom in Moscow and took second place in the parallel giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo and in the parallel slalom in the Secret Garden ski resort . She won the parallel slalom world cup and came ninth in the parallel giant slalom and fourth in the parallel world cup. At the highlight of the season, the 2019 World Championships in Park City , she became world champion in parallel slalom. In addition, she finished 18th in the parallel giant slalom.

Zogg took three World Cup victories in the 2019/20 season. She also achieved third place in the parallel slalom in Bad Gastein and won the parallel slalom World Cup at the end of the season. She was fourth in the parallel giant slalom world cup and second in the parallel world cup.

In 2015 Zogg graduated from the Swiss Armed Forces' top athlete recruit school and signed up as a regular soldier.
