The sixth FIS Snowboard World Championships found from 15 to 23 January 2005 in Whistler Mountain ( Canada instead).

Men

Snowboard cross

Of 66 participants, 32 qualified for the four round of 16, 16 of them for the quarter-finals and eight for the two semi-finals. The two worse ones reached the small final for bronze, the other four the final and ran for gold.

Parallel giant slalom

64 athletes competed in the giant slalom. 16 of them qualified for the round of 16. The two best runners reached the next round, so that eight were in the quarter-finals and four in the semi-finals. The semi-final winners fought for gold, the losers for the bronze medal.

61 snowboarders took part in the parallel slalom. 16 of them qualified for the round of 16. The winners of the eight comparisons made it to the quarter-finals. The four best reached the semi-finals. Those who lost there ran for the bronze medal in the small final , the two winners for gold in the final.

The winners of the quarter-finals started in the semi-finals to reach the final. The losers in the semi-finals ran for bronze in the small final , the winners then fought for the gold medal.
