There he started in the parallel giant slalom and came in 19th. In the next season he drove three times under the top ten in the World Cup and won his first European Cup race in Nendaz . At the Snowboard World Championships 2007 in Arosa , however, he had to be content with 28th place as the best result. At the German championships at the end of the season, he won his first title in the parallel slalom. In 2007/2008 he was able to improve further and finished in the top ten six times in the World Cup. At the beginning of the 2008/2009 season he achieved his first podium in the World Cup with third place in the indoor parallel slalom in Landgraaf . At the Snowboard World Championships 2009 in Gangwon he was again third in the parallel slalom .
