La Molina is a Spanish winter sports resort in Catalonia . The place in the Pyrenees belongs to the municipality of Alp in the province of Girona and is about five kilometers from the French border at an altitude of 1700 meters.
The ski slopes are a total of 60 km long. They are accessed by a gondola lift, seven chair lifts and five ski lifts that reach up to 2,445 meters. There are also 5 km of cross-country ski trails, facilities for snowboarding and a ski jump. Snowboard World Cup competitions have been held in La Molina since 2007, and races in the Alpine Ski World Cup since 2008 . In 2011 the Snowboard World Championship was held here.
La Molina is accessed by a train station on the RENFE - Barcelona – Latour-de-Carol - Enveitg line .
