Seth Wescott (born June 28, 1976 in Durham , North Carolina ) is an American snowboarder .

Wescott started skiing at the age of eight and discovered snowboarding two years later. Since 1989 he has focused exclusively on snowboarding. After the world championship title in 2005, he won the gold medal in the first ever Olympic snowboard cross at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin . He was able to defend this title four years later at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver .

Only one day later, the Swiss Tanja Frieden , with whom Wescott was dating at that time, also became Olympic champion in snowboard cross.
