Dorothea Theresia Krings (born April 13, 1977 in Obertauern , Salzburg , first name shortened to Doresia ) is a former Austrian snowboarder .

Career

On February 28, 1997, Krings drove her first race in the FIS - Snowboard World Cup . In 155 starts she reached 28 podiums in her career, eleven of them victories. She celebrated her first victory on December 6, 2001 at the snowboard cross in Whistler Mountain . The all-rounder then also won races in the parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom . In the 2001/02 and 2004/05 seasons she was first in the snowboard cross world cup. In the 2006/07 season she won the overall and the parallel World Cup. She drove her last World Cup race in January 2010 in Stoneham .

Doresia Krings took part in four snowboard world championships from 2003 to 2009 . She won the bronze medal in parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom at the 2005 World Championships in Whistler Mountain , and again in parallel slalom at the 2007 World Championships in Arosa . At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin , she was 11th in the parallel giant slalom and 13th in snowboard cross. At the 2009 World Championships in Gangwon-do , she finished seventh in snowboard cross. She drove the last race of her career at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver , where she achieved tenth place in snowboard cross.
