Lüdi is a Swiss- Finnish citizen and comes from Leimiswil in the canton of Bern . At the beginning of her sports career she tried her hand as an alpine ski racer , but failed to achieve any major success. She contested her last alpine ski race in April 2008, after which she switched to ski cross. Lüdi made her debut in the Freestyle World Cup on January 5th, 2009 in St. Johann in Tirol , where she finished 8th. At the 2009 World Cup in Inawashiro , she was ninth. With 3rd place in Grindelwald on March 12, 2009, she achieved her first podium finish in a World Cup race.
In the winter of 2009/10, Lüdi was among the top ten five times, including another third place. The worst result of the season she achieved at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games : After she fell in Cypress Mountain in the qualifying round, it was only enough for 35th place. Due to injury, she had to pause the entire 2010/11 season. The comeback in December 2011 was successful with two second places in Innichen . On January 11th, 2012 she celebrated her first World Cup victory in Alpe d'Huez , four days later she won in Les Contamines . In the final round of the Winter X Games in Aspen on January 29th, Lüdi dislocated his shoulder and was out for the rest of the season. Nevertheless, she finished 4th in the Ski Cross World Cup with a total of four podium places. In 2015 she was banned for one year for violating her doping reporting requirements three times .
