It is located above the city of West Vancouver in Cypress Provincial Park in the North Shore Mountains , about a thirty minute drive from downtown Vancouver . The winter season runs from the beginning of December to the end of April. Because of its location close to the coast with sometimes relatively warm sea winds, the area is not completely snow-sure.
